Yoon is the Founder and Managing Partner of Gold Hill Equity Partners. He has a rich mix of leadership experience across corporate strategy and private investments in the U.S. and South Korea.

Previously, Yoon was the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the New York-based education company The Princeton Review, where he led the post-acquisition integration with its Seoul-based owner and oversaw a number of key business functions. Prior to that, he was a senior investment professional at Unitas Capital, which was formerly JP Morgan’s private equity arm in Asia with $4 billion in assets under management. While at Unitas, Yoon sourced and completed various investments in select industries which helped build the firm’s track record. He has served as an observer on the boards of BuyTheWay, Ceratech, Godfrey’s, NEPA, and The Princeton Review.

Earlier in his career, Yoon worked on advising multinational corporations and private equity firms on M&A and capital market transactions as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers. He also served in the military as a combat medic and Sergeant in the Eighth U.S. Army near the DMZ in South Korea. Yoon earned his MBA from University of Southern California and a BA in Business from Seoul National University. He is also a certified public accountant. Yoon is currently an advisor to the board of SG Private School Foundation, which is family-owned and manages three private schools in Korea.

 

Having grown up, studied, and worked in both the U.S. and South Korea, Yoon is fully bilingual in English and Korean. In his free time, he enjoys spending time indoors and outdoors with his wife Grace and three children. He is also an avid traveler, and has been to more than 25 different countries on four different continents and more than 25 different states within the United States.
